The SPARK ice tool was developed in close collaboration with the leading athletes of the Russian national ice climbing team. This partnership, combined with the use of premium materials, ensures that every component of the SPARK is designed for one goal: to be the ultimate companion on the most challenging ice, mixed, and dry tooling routes.
The rubberized handle provides excellent grip and insulation against the cold.
The variable-section carbon shaft is significantly lighter than aluminum alternatives, reducing overall tool weight. Currently, the SPARK is the lightest tool in its class, weighing just 405 g. Beyond weight savings, the carbon shaft dampens vibration, has low thermal conductivity, and protects hands from cold. Its variable cross-section distributes loads evenly, allowing it to withstand extreme movements such as dynamic undercling forces.
The tool head is made from an ultra-light, high-strength aluminum alloy. The combination of precise geometry and material properties enables the head to withstand loads far exceeding CE/EN/UIAA quality standards. High manufacturing precision allows the pick to be mounted with a single bolt.
The replaceable Type T pick has a 4.8 mm base for exceptional strength against bending and impact, tapering to 3.0 mm at the tip for easy penetration even into hard ice. The standard configuration comes with a dry tooling pick; a dedicated ice pick can be ordered separately.
