IDOL Ice Axe

The IDOL ice axe, designed for the most demanding ski mountaineers and freeride enthusiasts, is also ideal for classic and high-altitude mountaineering. It can be equipped with the removable IR 0640HR hand guard, which makes it easier to hold by the shaft when navigating short but steep ice or firn sections on climbing routes.

World's lightest ice axe

IDOL is the most lightweight ice axe in the world with just 188 gr / 0.42 lbs for 50 cm / 20" in. length. 

Its uniqueness lies in the perfect balance of weight and strength, achieved through the optimization of every component. The variable-section carbon shaft surpasses aluminum alternatives in strength while providing a significant weight advantage. The shaft and head form a single carbon monocoque unit, combining stiffness and lightness. Its modern head design allows comfortable use with both the European grip (pick backward) and the American grip (pick forward).

⚠️ Note: This ice axe is not intended for long ice lines. We recommend the ultralight Spark ice tool for such purposes.
